Marina (pictured with Ben at an event in London in September) explained how she and Ben both ‘experienced grief in very different ways’ after the loss of their third child Willem in 2014
Speaking about how she felt after having a stillborn birth, Marina said: ‘I felt very isolated in terms of how to cope with it.
‘I had no friends who I could have coffee with, and say “Is this normal?”‘
Marina explained how it is important that fathers talk openly following the loss of a baby, as well as mother.
She added: ‘I found people asked Ben the whole time I was doing, but very few asked how he was doing.
Marina also discussed the important of discussing the loss of Willem with their children Ludo, eight, and Iona, seven (pictured together with Ben and Marina in an Instagram snap)
‘We experienced grief in different ways. We need to be discussing it from the male perspective as well. Very often, they feel the impact a little bit later.
‘Certainly for Ben, he totally lost his confidence, three, four months afterwards, when I was just getting back on my feet again.
‘He totally regressed, and found it very difficult to talk about.’

Elle, 33, discussed on Loose Women how she also struggled with her grief following the loss of baby Teddy.
‘After Teddy died, I felt so isolated, I felt that I was the only person it had happebed to. Most of my friends have never coped with any kind of loss,’ she said.
‘When you lose a child, you have to live with that sadness every single day.’
Explaining the meaning behind the title of her book about the loss of Teddy – Ask Me His Name – Elle explained: ‘It’s giving people permission to continue that conversation. The conversation doesn’t always need to stop with “I’m so sorry”. ‘
Loose Women airs weekdays at 12.30pm on ITV.
